Busy bee

I need to hang out in the clover more, it was hard to follow him and get good shots. I would like this more if the grass was not in front of the clover.

In line with yesterday's post; These are coffee cup covers, the red/orange one has been felted and the blue one had not yet. Both different yarn than the can cozy. see how the smaller one has shrunk? That is why you dont wash wool sweaters in the washing machine in hot water. Amazing isn't it?

knitwit

I knitted a can cozy to be felted as a teacher gift. (To felt you put a wool item from hot water to cold and agitate it.) The problem with this piece is the green dye was over powered by the mulberry color and after felting it was a sickly color all over. What I liked about it was the greens. I didn't take a picture of the "after".

sunny side up

So, have you ever seen a really big dandelion wishing puff? I mean really big. Those are a completely different plant. Those are this plant, last year I watched them bloom on our road, and I got all excited thinking about photographing the wishing puffs, and then they all got mowed before they opened. This year there are a few on our property, and on the dead end side road. Here's to hoping!

Growing like weeds.

Or like kittens, as the case may be.

different

A different post processing for me. I don't know if I like it or not, it's a 70's action.

Alium

I think, I was shooting in my Mom's neighbors back yard. They also have big bright salmon pink single peonies: the color wreaked havoc on the digital sensor!

Chester

Mother in Law's dog. Chester is quite the energetic dog, at first glance you would think the first photo was a nice one of Chester, but in reality he was not happy. When he is happy his ear sticks up. Granted I clipped the tip of it off, but I was trying to get in a capture before he started running again.

ginkgo

Touchy leaves, tremble at the slightest breeze, made shooting a little hit or miss. after 20 minutes I realized I was still on iso 800 from the field trip. I used Topaz adjust to pull out the grain/artifacts, it wasn't bad but it was noticeable at 100%. This is the first picture i took of the ginkgo leaves and I think its my favorite of them all.

2nd grade field trip day

My children love field trips, besides the field trip itself, it is the only time they get to ride the bus.

the in between colors

I have always liked variegated yarns for their in between colors. You know those odd spots where the color goes from lavender to peach, and in between them there is is the place they overlap, and it is a fascinating coppery hue; just like the color at the top of this photo. The color in between orange and blue.

always a bridesmaid...

It's probably a good thing my mother did not have a bridal veil bush when I was little, I'd have plucked it clean of its perfect little bridal bouquets. And Ken might have gotten tired of all the vow renewals he and Barbie would have had.

It was that kind of day, I got lots of photos edited, spent time with my mother in Law, but I did not shoot a single photo. So I'm sharing one I have uploaded to get printed.

another wish

or half a wish. Taken as it got late and dark, I missed the back light, but I went for it anyway.

On a side note most of April and what is up of May is all backdated. I shall do better. I hope.

adult knitting

The kind of knitting where you follow a pattern and have to pay attention. I'm a fly by the seat of my pants knitter: I check gauge, approximate the size , cast on and knit. Usually it all works out well in the end... usually. I decided to try a lace pattern for fun, and I loved it its simple pattern that yielded a lovely wheat like pattern. I decides to make a scarf for a teacher who is leaving our school and moving to Colorado. I hope she likes it.

Tulips

These grow outside the coffee place.

wishes

The boys call these wishes. "Look Mommy I found a wish for you!" I biggest obstacle I face trying to photograph a wish is getting to it before a boy uses it or a dog stomps all over it.

In the yard

It's tulip time. They spring up in the strangest places in the yard. The pink ones are new, they have never come up before this year.

blessings

Ian received first Communion on the 3rd. I did not really get a portrait, we were too far back in the church. (The hired pro, whose camera i was quite envious of, should be sending the real portrait soon.) I do however have this sweet little shot of Ian getting his rosary, made by Nana, blessed by Father Bill.
