blue, I'm so blue...

The movie room really put the Vacation in Vacation Bible School. I made a bunch of pop bottle fish, and one of the other ladies made the room a blue sea of tranquility. It was amazing. All we needed was a cozy chair or hammock to nap in.

Sometimes I feel like half my photos are of sunsets. :)

Purple

These flowers pop up all over the farm. I have no idea what they are, but it makes me happy to see them stick their heads up all over.

before and after.

My favorite yarn is being discontinued, so, I've had a mad hunt for what will fit in my budget that I can stash, because thee are 100 things I'd like to do with it. I discovered the other day that it felts.. So make that 200 things I could do with it. I dont know which special projects I will chose to do, but I think a few coffee cozies are in order. This is what the yarn looks like knitted.....

...and felted.

knitwit

I knitted a can cozy to be felted as a teacher gift. (To felt you put a wool item from hot water to cold and agitate it.) The problem with this piece is the green dye was over powered by the mulberry color and after felting it was a sickly color all over. What I liked about it was the greens. I didn't take a picture of the "after".

sunny side up

So, have you ever seen a really big dandelion wishing puff? I mean really big. Those are a completely different plant. Those are this plant, last year I watched them bloom on our road, and I got all excited thinking about photographing the wishing puffs, and then they all got mowed before they opened. This year there are a few on our property, and on the dead end side road. Here's to hoping!

Alium

I think, I was shooting in my Mom's neighbors back yard. They also have big bright salmon pink single peonies: the color wreaked havoc on the digital sensor!

ginkgo

Touchy leaves, tremble at the slightest breeze, made shooting a little hit or miss. after 20 minutes I realized I was still on iso 800 from the field trip. I used Topaz adjust to pull out the grain/artifacts, it wasn't bad but it was noticeable at 100%. This is the first picture i took of the ginkgo leaves and I think its my favorite of them all.

the in between colors

I have always liked variegated yarns for their in between colors. You know those odd spots where the color goes from lavender to peach, and in between them there is is the place they overlap, and it is a fascinating coppery hue; just like the color at the top of this photo. The color in between orange and blue.

adult knitting

The kind of knitting where you follow a pattern and have to pay attention. I'm a fly by the seat of my pants knitter: I check gauge, approximate the size , cast on and knit. Usually it all works out well in the end... usually. I decided to try a lace pattern for fun, and I loved it its simple pattern that yielded a lovely wheat like pattern. I decides to make a scarf for a teacher who is leaving our school and moving to Colorado. I hope she likes it.

In the yard

It's tulip time. They spring up in the strangest places in the yard. The pink ones are new, they have never come up before this year.

eggs

I don't thing any other egg has looked so purpley. Odd isn't it? I opened the box to grab the eggs and then closed it to go get the camera.

tulips

The yellow is hard not to over process. Its seems to be too bright or non-existent. Maybe its just my monitor?
