treasures

Found in the upstairs at my GrandPa's house. Made by my Mom's Mom's Mom. My Great Grandmother. I do not know what I will do with them. But they needed rescuing. There is also a round brown one, and two squares, in blue and purple.

Surprises

The first year we lived in this house I was surprised in march when our side yard exploded in blue.

I look forward to them every year, they are one of the things that make this place home.

tennis ball tragedy

The new dog is a ball killer, if you give her 30 seconds where you are not watching she does this.

Going trucking

Had to do some work PP-ing the eyes, and they are still so dark. Lightened the skin a little so the eyes would not be off from the skin, looks good on my monitor, how about yours?

Once again, I will be playing catch up...

A week and a half ago, on Tuesday the 10th, my grandmother died. My parents where both at the house with my Grandfather, as was my mom's older brother. It was and yet it wasn't unexpected. It has been a long week. It has been very hard on my Grandfather. Please keep him in your prayers.

Then both the kids and I have been ill for a couple of day. That makes the week even longer. I' ve missed a few days shooting and I will have missed catching up on anyone else's blogs, and I'm way behind posting myself. I'll be getting to it. Or at least I'll be giving it my best attempt.

in town

this barn is in town, behind an old farmhouse, amid all kinds of larger newer (not new new) but newer houses. And I never really noticed it before a few weeks ago. I was surprised that the farmhouse and the old barn are still there, it seems in our society too much gets torn down.

In the middle of the night...

...the wind picked up, and for a few moments I was seriously worried about our roof, our upstairs and our children. I was about to go get the kids from their room when the wind died down as quickly as it came up. We suffered no damage, but on the way to church we saw this mess.

Lily

Kindergarten classmate of one of the boys and my friend's daughter. Whenever she sees my camera out she avoids me like the plague.. Photos of Lily are few and far between. I caught a couple to today at the park. This one is the most her..

Guinny

....as in Pen-Guinny. When we got them as chicks they where fuzzy and black like little penguin chicks. This is my girl who lays the monster jumbo eggs.

a whole lot of Backstepping going on.

I have a few holes in February, but mostly I am all caught up, Just so you know I backdate the late posts for the day the photo was intended for, If you look a the tag "backstep" you will find all those I've snuck in on you! sorry.

more egg photos.

This morning I was greeted by 3 identical smooth perfect pink eggs. Conversely, last night when I checked the egg box I was greeted by these three cuties. All radically different. Green, pink with white speckles, and tan with brown freckles. I really liked the way they looked together and I really like the way they photograph together; I'm back to thinking about making Easter cards. Maybe I'll use one of these photos.

This was the last egg laid today, laid this afternoon, by my best laying hen, Guinny.. (don't I sound like a chicken farmer for sure) She lays extra Jumbo eggs, and she's very consistent. At any rate, I have all of Guinny's eggs set aside to take to Grandpa. It's a small thing, but one I feel compelled to do.
