new shoes

I love watching the farrier work on the horses. I always have enjoyed holding the horses for the farriers and watching them work. And I have for quite awhile wanted to shoot some pictures of the horses getting shod. I'm sure Travis, our farrier, thinks I'm quite the nut job. (and I am so I guess its ok.)

It was all doom and gloom outside so I had very little light to work with; Some of these are grainier than others, but the grit really lends its self well to the Black and White conversion and the subject matter.

rainy days and birthdays...

Nah, they don't get me down, but next year we have to have our cake while there is still enough light for a photo; the light on this one is appalling!

Like the # the Hubby picked out? I had a big swallow of Diet Coke in my mouth when Jamie asks in a fascinated, almost incredulous voice, "Mommy is 29???" I'm lucky I did not aspirate the soda and have to go to the ER!

another wish

or half a wish. Taken as it got late and dark, I missed the back light, but I went for it anyway.

On a side note most of April and what is up of May is all backdated. I shall do better. I hope.

somedays you run out of light.

I know odd photo, I could not get a bald head and eyes without getting a dirty look, could be that I was flashing the poor guy with the camera. At any rate, a couple weeks ago my husband just showed up looking like a shorn sheep.

Love

This is my Hubby's Uncle with his newest grandbaby, I had to fight for enough light to not use the flash. We took the shade off the lamp next to the chair, and that still was not really enough light. Outside was terribly overcast.

Adventures without light!

Gathered all the cousins together and shot a Christmas picture. The sun only shone for about an hour in the morning, it just got darker all day. We did not have much of a prayer as far as the light goes.my mom thinks its a little dark.. lol..
