I've always liked yarn, especially variegated colors. This is a simple green variegated yarn, I dont know what I will do with it yet It may be a blanket in the near future.

handmade

I've been spending time finishing handmade blankets, weaving the stray ends into the blanket so they are not seen. My grandmother made lots of blankets. This is what she spend her time doing. They are now left behind.

treasures

Found in the upstairs at my GrandPa's house. Made by my Mom's Mom's Mom. My Great Grandmother. I do not know what I will do with them. But they needed rescuing. There is also a round brown one, and two squares, in blue and purple.

The door

This is the door to my Grandparents house. Even now, or maybe especially now it is a special and welcome sight.

ain't no sunshine when she's gone

Stopped for coffee on my way out of town to go see my Grandmother in the hospital. It was the only thing that went right all day. The day was grey, and foggy, and cold.

And cruel.

At 88, she has been diagnosed with cancer, and quite a bit of it. The doctors give her maybe a month. Grandma has not been healthy for a very very long time. Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, Congestive Heart Failure. We are not shocked to know she is dying, but we are little surprised by what is the final blow. We are shedding our selfish tears for our loss, and we are shedding not so selfish tears for my Grandfather, who is not ready to let go.
