Out of range
I tried to get as close to this tree as I could without getting out of the car and wandering off into the field, because it was bitterly cold. But I just don't seem to have gotten close enough. I was so cold, and the sun was not out. I could not bring myself to wander stranger's fields in the cold haze.

I actually think the open space in the foreground gives dimension to your subject. I like it!
